More Information:Laura is no stranger to the low country. She was born in Charleston and moved all along South Carolina’s coast until she became firmly planted here in Beaufort in 1991. This being her parent’s hometown, they’d always thought it a fit place to raise their family. With a job opportunity for her father, Ray Stevens, as Hunting Island State Park’s manager – it became evident that Beaufort was calling them back. While being very familiar with Beaufort after growing up here, Laura took her time to learn the business of real estate and how it applies to the Beaufort area. She began her real estate career in an apprenticeship position working with Keith Strawn; a top agent here at Ballenger Associates. “I couldn’t put a price on all that I learned during my apprenticeship. Keith and everyone here at Ballenger Associates is family to me,” says Laura. “Everyone here takes great concern for each other. This company has done a tremendous job creating the perfect work environment. I am so grateful to have been brought aboard this wonderful company.” Laura is now a full time Realtor and wife to Darby Vernon; owner/operator of the local electrical company, Trademark Electric. Together they are both very involved in the real estate market. Laura loves Beaufort and says, “It’s where I want to raise my family and where I plan to retire.
